Habit Cloud is a free mobile habit tracker app with no ads and no subscriptions. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data. Habit Cloud is developed and maintained by an individual developer, not a company.

By using Habit Cloud, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Habit Cloud is designed with privacy in mind. The app does not require registration and does not collect personal information. Specifically, the app does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or other personal identifiers
  • Passwords or authentication credentials
  • Photos, contacts, or other sensitive device data
  • Location data (GPS or precise location)
  • Financial or payment information

There are no newsletters, marketing communications, or promotional emails.

Data Storage

All your habit data, settings, and progress are stored exclusively on your device. Habit Cloud does not use cloud servers to store your personal data, and there is no cross-device synchronization feature.

If you delete the app or clear the app's data, all your information will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered. We recommend using the app's built-in export feature to back up your data before uninstalling.

Analytics

Habit Cloud uses PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. The analytics data may include:

  • App usage patterns (e.g., which features are used most frequently)
  • Device type, model, and operating system version
  • General location (country or region level, not precise)
  • App version and session duration
  • Language and locale settings

This data is collected in aggregate and cannot be used to personally identify you. No error tracking or crash reporting services are used. Your habit data, entries, and personal notes are never included in analytics.

Device Permissions

Habit Cloud may request the following device permission:

  • Notifications — used solely for habit reminders that you configure within the app. All notifications are local and scheduled on your device. No push notifications are sent from external servers.

This permission is optional. The app works fully without it. You can grant or revoke notification access at any time through your device settings.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service integrated into Habit Cloud is PostHog for analytics. The app does not integrate with:

  • Advertising networks or ad tracking services
  • Social media platforms or login providers
  • Data brokers or marketing tools
  • Error tracking or crash reporting services

Data Sharing

Habit Cloud does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. Since your data is stored locally on your device, we do not have access to it and cannot transfer it to others.

Data Security

Your data is protected by the security mechanisms built into your device's operating system. Since all data remains on your device and is not transmitted to external servers, there is no risk of server-side data breaches. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a screen lock to protect your data.

Your Rights

Since Habit Cloud stores all data locally on your device, you have full control over your information. You can:

  • View all your data directly within the app
  • Export your data using the built-in export feature
  • Delete all data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app

No request to the developer is needed to access, modify, or delete your data.

Children's Privacy

Habit Cloud does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since the app does not require registration and stores all data locally on the device, no personal data is transmitted or collected from users of any age.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
